The Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program (JBMSHP) at Arizona State University is intended for mature and motivated students who are interested in careers requiring mathematics, science, or engineering-based coursework and are typically underrepresented in those fields of study. Participants live on the ASU Tempe campus while enrolled in a university-level mathematics or computer science course worth 3 college credits. Participants attend class daily and partake in homework, quizzes and exams. Tutoring and problem solving sessions are provided. Students also learn valuable college and academic success information that will help them successfully transition to college. Selected participants include first-generation college-bound students and students representing diverse backgrounds from high schools throughout the State of Arizona, including rural communities and the Navajo Nation.

The ASU Leadership Scholarship Program is a four year leadership program that provides students with an institutional scholarship. Students are given many opportunities to discover more about themselves, the leadership skills they possess and explore the opportunities and responsibilities of leadership. During their freshman year, students are enrolled in two leadership courses and assigned a mentor. As sophomores, juniors, and seniors, students are afforded the opportunity to continue to develop as leaders by taking part in service projects, joining student organizations, and starting their own initiatives. In addition, the program allows incoming freshmen to be connected to faculty, staff and upper class students as soon as they begin their journey at ASU.  The scholarship is worth $10,000 per year and is renewable for four years as long as students meet the requirements of the program.

The LSP application process is an online application that is completed by the interested students.  The application is currently open and available for applicants.  The application can be found at https://eoss.asu.edu/lsp.  The application is due Friday, January 14th, 2022.
